Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is Sen. John McCain’s choice as running mate on the Republican presidential ticket.

That makes her fair game.

Her life will be investigated and scrutinized. Her decisions will be questioned. Her public service will be put under a microscope. Every speech will be dissected, every public utterance screened for anything that could be possibly be used against her.

The Democrats will do it, looking for an advantage. The media will do it, looking for a story. And even her own party will do it, looking for land mines and trying to head them ...
