Well, the conventions are over. The nominees are in place. The race begins in earnest.

So does the media coverage.

We can only hope what we see in the next couple of months is better than what we saw at the conventions.

Anyone watching the three major television networks should have a pretty good idea of what the anchors, commentators, sidelined politicos and other pundits think. They should also have a pretty good idea of what this crowd told them the speakers said.

But they have precious little idea of what actually was said.
