Study of area murder cases offers nothing but assumptions

University of Iowa law professor David Baldus thinks something is wrong in the judicial district that serves this part of Arkansas.

But is he right?

Baldus did a study on behalf of Frank Williams Jr., the man who sits on death row awaiting execution for the 1992 murder of Lafayette County farmer Clyde Spence.

Williams shot Spence—a man who had helped him get out of prison and given him a place to live and work—in a dispute over money after Spence fired Williams.
