Summer’s gone. Fall’s here.

The autumnal equinox starts a bit after 10:20 p.m. tonight and marks the true beginning of fall. It’s Mother Nature’s way of telling us to prepare for gather our stores so we can pass the coming winter.

The sun will be directly above the equator. Day and night will be almost the same length—actually the day remains just a few minutes longer in our neck of the woods..

Symbolically, fall is the season of change. Crops come to harvest. Leaves turn and fall from the trees. The days get shorter as the darkness comes upon us earlier.
