Paul Newman died Friday of cancer. He was 83.

At least his body died. His legacy will live on.

Newman saw to that. Before his death he made sure that charitable works would go on long after. His “Hole in the Wall” camps will still offer children with life-threatening illnesses a place to get away and enjoy some time in the outdoors. And his “Newman’s Own” brand will continue selling his signature spaghetti sauce and other products, with 100 percent of the profits still going to charity—at last count that has added up to more than $250 million.
