Since the bailout failed to clear Congress on Monday, there has been much speculation in the media about what’s next and what will happen to America should no rescue package be passed.

Many believe we would see a deep recession that would extend from Wall Street through the Main Streets of every town in the country. They see an America where credit dries up, many small businesses go under, many lose their jobs and retirement accounts shrink dramatically.

Others think the markets will work out on their own and any period of hard times would be relatively brief.
