Thank goodness University of Texas administrators backed off. Or came to their common senses.

On Thursday, UT officials announced the lifting of a ban on signs and posters hung in dormitories, especially those of political nature.

The spotlight was focused on the Austin campus after administrators gave a couple of students an ultimatum: Take down a poster favoring their presidential choice that was displayed in their dorm room window or be disciplined.
