Big news in Texarkana this week.

Wednesday, CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System and Wadley Regional Medical Center announced that, pending approval, they will merge by the end of the year.

CHRISTUS will acquire Wadley’s assets and keep the downtown hospital open to continue its long history of service to the community.

It’s welcome news. Hundreds of thousands of people across the Ark-La-Tex depend on Wadley and CHRISTUS St. Michael for their health care needs.
