In the news business, we see a lot of death.

Sometimes it comes singularly, sometimes two, three or even more lose their lives. Sometimes in the form of a tragic accident, other times as cold-blooded murder.

Though it’s never easy, you learn to cope with death, as do police officers, firefighters, those serving in the military and others who see death regularly.

But it hits close to home when it’s one of your own.
