A lot of Texarkana families will be giving thanks today. And we’ll be joining them.

Word has come that Cooper Tire and Rubber Co. has decided to keep the local tire plant open and close down its operations in Albany, Ga.

It’s been a tense several weeks around these parts since Cooper announced it was considering shutting down one of its four U.S. tire manufacturing plants.

That left Texarkana, Albany, Findlay, Ohio, and Tupelo, Miss., all vying to remain among those left standing.
