Merle Eaves really knows her onions

OMAHA Merle Eaves is one of those people who enjoys telling others what to do. Not in a mean way. But when she asks you to do something, she means for you to do it. That is why she enjoys being the senior member at Browns Omaha Plant Farm where she and other women sort onion plants into boxes to be mailed to anxious growers across the country. Since the early 1960s, Eaves has had what many would call an unusual job. First of all, the job is only on Mondays and the work begins before the roosters crow. Another thing is its seasonal so she has the rest of the year off to recuperate.
