The pets of the week are a female red heeler mix dog in cage D3 and a female Siamese with blue eyes in cage C41.

The Texarkana Animal Shelter has 71 dogs, 31 cats for adoption and 33 kittens, said a shelter official. There were 33 adoptions in the past week.

The fee to adopt dogs is $40. Cats can be adopted $20 each. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at the shelter, 203 Harrison St. All animals have been wormed and received their seven-in-one shots. For more information, call the shelter at 870-773-6388.
