If indeed the world’s a stage, as a William Shakespeare character suggests in his play “As You Like It,” then theater companies have the role of breathing life into those worlds.

For whatever play we see, it’s not just actors who inhabit a stage, it’s the scenery and setting itself, the places created where drama and comedy reside. They are part of the life on stage.

For theater troupes like Texarkana Repertory Co. and the Downtown Youth Theater Co., each play or musical presents unique challenges and opportunities to make the stage come alive with a new world.
