Jerome and Harriet McGary of Texarkana, Texas, announce the engagement of their daughter, Valerie McGary, to Charles Ray, the son of Donna Mitchell and Charles Richardson of Texarkana.

Miss McGary is a 1995 graduate of Liberty-Eylau High School. She is employed with Texarkana Independent School District.

The prospective groom is a 1996 graduate of Texas High School. He is employed with Red River Army Depot.

The wedding will be 4 p.m. July 4 at Sunset Missionary Baptist Church.
