A glamorous night with an iconic blonde bombshell, white convertible, red carpet, paparazzi and gourmet dining arrives in East Texas soon.
Jefferson hosts two performances of "Some Like it Marilyn: A Hollywood Musical Memoir" at McGarity's Saloon on July 1 and July 2. It's a cabaret dinner-theater production presented by Jefferson's Opera House Theatre Players. Both shows start at 6:30 p.m. The event includes a three-course dinner.
The performance features entertainer Jane Maddox as Marilyn Monroe and, as the venue, a restored building in downtown Jefferson, a former riverport town. Sporting replica gowns and that classic Monroe look, Maddox presents a one-woman musical show.
