Junction City, 1906 Mailed to Oak Ridge, Ga., the message penned across the bottom of this card reads, “Got your card and it found me way up here. Like my work fine. The area, located near Gateway, contains almost 2,000 acres of woodlands, bluffs and forest.

works were recognized out of more than 150 accepted into the exhibition. Entries came from eight high schools, nine middle schools, three elementary schools and three private instructors.

The exhibit will be displayed at the Regional Arts Center through June 25. Here are the 2016 winners:

 

Elementary School Division

Second Place: Madison Carpenter, "Eyes of Wonder," Pleasant Grove Intermediate School.

Third Place: Lynleigh Henderson, "Spring," Renaissance Art Academy.

Honorable Mention: Paige Reeves, "Wild Tiger," and Faye Addison, "Texas River," Renaissance Art Academy.

Merit Award: Jake Sawyer, "The Pot," Horatio Elementary School; Julianna Horton, "Collograph Flower," Pleasant Grove Intermediate School.

People's Choice Award: Anna Claire Barr, "Rainbow Pots," instructor Jeannie Edwards.

 

Middle School Division

First Place: Supriya Sharma, "Chinese New Year," Pleasant Grove Intermediate School.

Second Place: Logan Richardson, "Life Underwater," Hooks Junior High School.

Third Place: Anita Hedricks, "A Glimpse Into Our Past," Valliant Middle School.

Honorable Mention: Shelby Steele, "Impossible Beauty Standards," Texas Middle School; Kaiolohia Sooman, "Broken Bike," instructor Jeannie Edwards.

Art supplies gift baskets were given to Gracie Wolcott of Horatio Elementary School, Jennifer Gonzalez of Texas Middle School and Mariah Epps of Liberty-Eylau High School.
