Arkadelphia's Arktoberfest features craft beer, catfish cookoff

ARKADELPHIA, Ark.-Saturday in Arkadelphia brings two Natural State treats together: catfish and beer. Specifically, the town hosts the Arktoberfest Craft Beer Festival and Catfish Cookoff downtown.

In addition to craft beer vendors supplying the brew and catfish dinners for sale, people can enjoy music, vendors, food trucks, art, wine from regional wineries and more. The festival has craft beers sold from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Teams will compete at the catfish cookoff starting at 11 a.m. Catfish serving lines open at 5 p.m.

The 10th annual Round About Artists Studio Tour provides a chance to also view local artists at work in their studios. It's open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Homebrewers will compete in the Arktoberfest Challenge Homebrew Competition. Children's activities include tricycle races, a costume contest, KnockerBall and more. An all-styles car show starts at 9 a.m. and goes until 2 p.m. The music lineup ranges from Bluesboy Jag and the Juke Joint Zombies from Little Rock to the HSU Faculty Polka Band.
