The Jefferson Candlelight Tour of Homes is through Saturday in Jefferson, Texas. Hempstead County Bicentennial Committee is sponsoring a time capsule as part of the county bicentennial. All citizens of the county may turn in one sheet of paper, available online or at the Chamber of Commerce, to be microfilmed and placed into the capsule, with communities asked to donate artifacts or items to be added. All letters and items are needed by Dec. 15. ALSO: A Bicentennial Poetry Contest is open to any citizens of Southwest Arkansas with age categories for 18 and over, 14-17, 10-13 and 10 and under, with entries due at SWAAC13@gmail.com by Dec. 7. Over 30 Dance Club hosts Jim Smith and Mass Transit from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. today at Texarkana, Texas, Elks Lodge 3702 New Boston Road.
