"The play is a love story. It's based on the Book of Hosea from the Bible. And it's just showing forgiveness and reconciliation, how you go through things and it shows how you can forgive," Jackson-Fields said, noting a theme is God's love for us, as symbolized by these characters.

"No matter what we do to God, he still forgives us," Jackson-Fields said. "There's forgiveness and he loves us. He chose a man and a woman in a physical form to show just how great His love is for us."

This play, "Flaws: A Love Story," is one she's presented locally before. People requested she stage it again.

"I just feel like Valentine's Day is the perfect time to show that," Jackson-Fields said.

While the characters have a Biblical basis, they are contemporary. It's a modern retelling of the Hosea story, a play that's "one of healing," said the playwright.

Jackson-Fields enjoys dinner theater and wants to bring something different to the people in this area. "I have done dinner theater before, but Valentine's Day I think is a great time to do it. It gives couples who don't usually get out somewhere to go. And then even if you're not married, it's just a nice place to go, a nice evening."

In addition to the play and dinner, there's musical entertainment, too. "Love songs," Jackson-Fields said. For dinner, the menu includes brisket, baked potatoes, salad and tea. Door prizes will be given out, too.

Octavia's Activity Center is a new business she's opened, one geared toward families. "I've always this vision to have a nice place for people to go to have nice evenings. It's different events going on there," Jackson-Fields. They include parties, concerts and more.

(Tickets: $20 in advance. Octavia's Activity Center is located at 2315 Texas Boulevard. Start time is 7 p.m. with dinner. Evening cocktail dress is encouraged. For tickets, call Vanessa Jackson-Fields at 940-389-5802 or contact her on Facebook, or call Nesha of Presice Imagz at 430-200-9614.)
