Twice as Nice Music Academy, the Fine Arts School of Texarkana has been honored with the SupportMusic Merit Award from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education.
The SupportMusic Merit Award recognizes individual schools that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students. Twice as Nice is one of 135 schools to receive this award in 2018.
To qualify for the SupportMusic Merit Award, Donayle Cardenas, concert pianist and head of Twice as Nice Music Academy, went through a detailed evaluation process about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program and her community music-making programs.
This award recognizes that Twice as Nice Music Academy is leading the way with learning opportunities as outlined in the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
