CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), a non-profit organization, is in need of volunteers to help the abused and neglected children in an 8 county area in Texas and Arkansas. CASA volunteers speak up for a child in court, they are the voice that makes a difference in a child's life. Volunteers get to know the children and everyone who is involved with the child. Two volunteers are also needed to provide childcare during group meetings 5:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. every other Tuesday at the shelter.; and one to two volunteers to serve as a check-in workers for the Tuesday night group meeting 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the main office. The HIP (Hope, Inspiration and Protection) Mentoring Children of Prisoners Program needs volunteers to serve as positive role models, friends, advocates and listeners for children between the ages of 4 and 18 who live in Southwest Arkansas and Northeast Texas.
