Local playwright Vanessa Jackson-Fields brings her current production, "She's My Rose," to the stage Saturday at Octavia's Event Center.
With both 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. shows, Jackson-Fields presents a Mother's Day special with a story that explores motherhood: "Being a mother, a woman dealing with different trials in life. Putting yourself last for your family." It's a play that mothers and the whole family should enjoy, she said.
"Start your Mother's Day celebration on Saturday by bringing her to a stage play," the playwright said.
The cast includes Tammee Harvey, LaMarcus Franklin, Mary Adele Phillips, Kenya Davis, Benjamin Fields, Charles Craig, Joshua Jeffreys, Isaiah Germany, DeMarcus Paxton and Travonn Crow.
