The Texarkana areas unemployment rate rose slightly in February to 5.4 percent, according to estimates released by the Texas Workforce Commission. Februarys rate for the Texarkana Metropolitan Statistical Area is one-tenth of a percentage point above the January rate and one-tenth of a point lower than the year-ago figure. The estimate is not seasonally adjusted and covers Miller and Bowie counties.
