Texarkana, Texas, Mayor James Bramlett has called a special closed meeting to evaluate City Manager George Shackelford in connection with the situation surrounding the appointment of a police chief. ‘I just felt like it was something we needed to do’ said Bramlett of the meeting that is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall. So, he called up City Attorney Tom Arnold Friday morning and had him set up the closed session for the council ‘to sit and discuss an evaluation. Bramlett said he believes the council needs to ‘sit down and talk about it and talk to George.
