JDC poised to meet standards: 3 circuit judges urge a better way to keep facility open

Three Arkansas circuit court judges believe the Lantz Lurry Juvenile Detention Center is ‘in a position to meet national standards for juvenile crime prevention and delinquency rehabilitation. The March 16 letter was signed by Judges Joe Griffin, Jim Hudson and Kirk Johnson of the Circuit Court of Miller County, Eighth South Judicial District. The letter, sent to Miller County Judge Roy John McNatt and the members of the Miller County Quorum Court, outlines some concerns the judges have should the juvenile detention center close.
