The cases of two teenage suspects in the shooting death of a local car salesman have been stalled based on their attorneys filing motions. Daniel Smith, 17 at the time of Tommy Ables death, is waiting for a decision from the Arkansas Court of Appeals. His lawyers want him tried as a juvenile. In July 2006, Miller County Circuit Judge Joe Griffin denied a motion to try Smith as a juvenile and Smiths lawyers are appealing Griffins decision.
