The role public health plays in keeping people healthy is often low-key but important to the overall well-being of any community. Public health is in the spotlight now as part of National Public Health Week. Texarkana-Bowie County Family Health Center called attention to its services Tuesday with an open house and information booths outlining its many programs. ‘The most important thing is our purpose to protect the health of the public. Most of what we do people arent aware of because its behind the scenes’ said Kathy Moore, center director.
