A bill co-sponsored by Texas Sen. Kevin Eltife, R-Tyler, seeks to use the Texas Enterprise Fund for retaining and expanding the states manufacturing employment base. The legislation, Senate Bill 1979 filed with co-sponsor Sen. Rodney Ellis, D-Houston, would expand the use of the states Enterprise Fund to include existing industry. ‘Currently the enterprise fund is a fund thats available as incentive money to bring new jobs to Texas, so currently you cannot use the fund to retain manufacturing jobs’ said Eltife.
