A Texarkana, Texas, man was sentenced to life in prison Thursday for possession of a controlled substance. Charles Lee Hamilton, 49, who has a long criminal record, was convicted by a Bowie County jury Wednesday and sentenced Thursday by Judge John Miller. Because of his extensive criminal history, the third-degree felony of possession of a controlled substance was enhanced to a first-degree felony.
