Pets of the week are a female, black-and-white, mixed-breed, 4-month-old puppy, tag 16244. Texarkana Animal Shelter has about 36 dogs, 11 puppies, 32 cats and five kittens for adoption, said shelter director David Warrick. The animal shelter adopted 37 animals last week. The fee to adopt dogs is $25. Cats can be adopted two for $25. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at the animal shelter, 203 Harrison St. All animals have been wormed and received their seven-in-one shots.
