Reappointment of captains to interim chief slots on hold

Texarkana Gazette The Texarkana, Texas, City Council voted 4-2 Monday to postpone the reappointment of four police captains to the interim chief position after about 75 uniformed officers made a stand at the meeting in support of Capt. Joe Bunting. Ward 6 Council Member George Nuckolls proposed the postponement and suggested scheduling a workshop to discuss reconsidering Bunting as police chief. ‘I think it is fairly obvious tonight that Bunting has a lot of support in the Police Department’ Nuckolls said.
