Several reservoir-related bills will be heard today by the Texas House Natural Resources Committee. Among the bills scheduled for public testimony are House Bills 1681 and 2187. Both do essentially the same thing in designating unique reservoir sites across the state, including the controversial Marvin Nichols Reservoir, a plan by the state to address long-term water needs in the Dallas vicinity. The reservoir would be in Red River and Titus counties mainly, but built by the Region C water planning group, which covers the Dallas Metroplex.
