The Texarkana, Ark., Planning Commission approved a rezoning Tuesday night that would pave the way for a business expansion on State Line Avenue. During its regular meeting, the commission recommended a rezoning request by Mickey and Emma Lofton for the Lofton Beauty Salon property at 2006 N. State Line Ave. If approved by the Board of Directors, property would change from R-3 Low Density Residential to C-3 Open Display Commercial. City Planner Eston McGee said the small piece of land is the last or nearly the last piece of property on State Line not to be zoned C-3.
