Staff photo by Jim Williamson A 2000 Freightliner loaded with rolled paper leaving the Domtar paper mill south of Ashdown was hit by a northbound KCS train Wednesday morning. The collision was reported at 7:54 a.m. to the Little River County Sheriffs Department. The trailer was hit by the train engine as the driver attempted to cross the tracks and turn north on U.S. Highway 71. The driver, Rick Warren, 54, was not hurt in the accident. He was driving for America Central Transport of Liberty, Mo. Arkansas State Police Cpl. Jamie Gravier cited the driver for disregarding a railroad signal. The...
