The Texarkana, Ark., Fire Department put out a fire Saturday afternoon at Links Apartments, 333 Links Drive. When firefighers arrived, smoke was coming from the attic. The blaze was extinguished inside apartment No. 1712 after only a few minutes. The resident was not home at the time of the fire, about 4 p.m., fire department Lt. Jeff Tanner said. ‘It looked like it started on the stove in the kitchen. It looked like it began on a rear element’ Tanner said.
