Bowie JDC shutdown extended for weeksBy Greg Bischof

Cold weather brought the Scouts closer to the large bonfire, and they were able to enjoy a fireworks show later that night.
Texarkana Gazette What was initially thought to be a short-term shutdown of the Bowie County Juvenile Detention Center will last at least four to six weeks longer. Interim Chief Juvenile Probation Officer Mary Choate said Friday that it will now be the middle to the latter part of next month before the center reopens. Choate attributed the delay to a decision by the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission to have the county rearrange an area of the center where court proceedings are held.
