In a workshop at 5:30 this afternoon at City Hall, the Texarkana, Ark., Board of Directors will look at how local tax increases it approved late last year mesh with next years sales tax exemption loss, and how they affect citizens. Ward 5 Director Patsy Cornelius requested the workshop for an open dialogue about the taxes, which were approved before she was on the board. Cornelius said it was especially necessary in light of the impending loss of the Arkansas sides sales tax exemption on groceries, over-the-counter medications and utilities.
