For the sixth year straight, CHRISTUS St. Michael Health Center will hold its ‘Closing the Gap Health Fair to try to eliminate health care disparities between blacks and other populations. ‘Statistics reveal that African-Amerians in the Texarkana region as well as across the rest of the United States suffer disproportionately from diabetes, heart disease, stroke, cancer, infant mortality and other medical problems’ said Francine Francis, director of communications for St. Michael.
