Man pleads not guilty to embezzling charges

The former business manager of the now defunct Plumbing and Pipefitters Union Local 237 of Texarkana, Texas, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to federal charges of embezzling from union accounts. William ‘Willie Brown is alleged to have stolen at least $80,000 from the unions apprenticeship and training fund and its general fund between 1997 and 2002, according to the indictment returned by a federal grand jury this month.
