Unemployment in the Texarkana area saw a substantial drop in March, falling six-tenths of a percentage point to land at 4.8 percent, according to an estimate provided by the Texarkana Workforce Commission. The non-seasonally adjusted figure, which applies to both Bowie and Miller counties, is also lower than the March 2006 figure of 5.2 percent. Februarys rate this year was 5.4 percent.
