The Texarkana Volunteer Center recognized local volunteers Thursday night with its Ninth Annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner. Kathy Getz was named 2007 Volunteer of the Year. Getz volunteers at Liberty-Eylau schools and has helped implement a tutoring program using community volunteers. Three For Me is a program she implemented where individuals are able to sign up with local nonprofit agencies and volunteer a minimum of three hours.
