De QUEEN, Ark. In about a year, people who violate laws in De Queen or Sevier County should have a new place to stay. Construction is about 30 percent complete on the new $5.24 million Sevier County jail in the Sevier County Industrial Park, said County Judge Dick Tallman. Southbuild, LLC, of Memphis, Tenn., developed the plan and coordinated the bidding process for the county. Tallman said Smith Doyle Construction is the primary contractor and the facility will be constructed with 17 sub-contractors.
