Tragedy struck on local highways this Memorial Day weekend with two fatal accidents and numerous others injured. A Clarksville, Texas, woman died and five other people were injured in a three-vehicle accident about 3 p.m. Sunday on U.S. Highway 82 near Cass County Road 1270, police said. Jennifer Harper, 53, of Clarksville, was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Shelly Benton. Her body was taken to Clarksville Funeral Home, police said.
