One of the themes from the 11th Annual Regional Water Resource Conference last week was the scarcity of a precious resource: Water. On that note, officials gave an update on the Walnut Bayou Irrigation District project, which could help farmers in Little River County. Kalven Trice, Arkansas state conservationist with the Natural Resources Conservation Service, said Thursday at the conference the goal is to optimize conservation and irrigation efficiency. The conference was held here in Texarkana and sponsored by the Red River Valley Association.
