A new state law in Arkansas gives homeowners the right to use deadly physical force not just in their homes but elsewhere on their property. The law, approved in the recent legislative session, amends the use of deadly physical force in defense of a person statute to expand the area from which a person is not required to retreat. Before the law, a person was required to retreat if he or she was not in his or her home.
