While attorney Shorty Barrett stood with Melody Melton when she pleaded guilty Wednesday in Miller County Circuit Court, she was actually represented by attorney Derric S. McFarland, who was at another trial. Melton pleaded guilty to obstruction of governmental operations for bringing contraband into the Arkansas Department of Community Correction facility.
