UNICOR program restarts at federal prison

The UNICOR program at Texarkana’s Federal Correctional Institution is restarting after successful trial runs in 2005 and 2006, according to the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality. The program, which lets Arkansans recycle a variety of electronics equipment to be reused and kept out of landfills, has been widened to include more types of items, said Todd Baldau of Federal Prison Industries, which runs the program in conjunction with ADEQ.
