Man courteously accepts a 40-year meth sentence

A New Boston, Texas, meth cook politely accepted a 40-year prison sentence Thursday in a Bowie County courtroom after pleading guilty to manufacturing methamphetamine. “Yes sir, I’m guilty,” said a cheerful sounding Charles Robert Wiley, 57, when District Judge John Miller asked if he wanted to give up his right to a trial by jury. “Guilty as charged, sir,” was Wiley’s response to Miller when asked how he wanted to plead to the charge of manufacturing a controlled substance.
