Sporadic electrical outages affected the Texarkana region Monday as thunderstorms and rain rolled through the metropolitan area. Scott McCloud, Southwestern Electric Power Co. spokesman, reported 1,134 people were without power in Texarkana as of early afternoon due to a pine tree falling on a power line. This affected customers near the 39th Street substation. Power was down as of 1:14 p.m. and was estimated to be back online by 3:15 p.m. Also, a smattering of customers experienced outages in Hooks and DeKalb, Texas.
