Judge wraps up blanket suit: Hudson approves temporary settlement in class action case
A Miller County judge has granted preliminary approval of a settlement in a national class action lawsuit that asserts electric blankets made by Sunbeam contain a flawed design that can cause fires. The suit alleges Sunbeam manufactured electric blankets, heating pads and heated throws between 1991 and May 2000 that contain dangerous C100 circuitry. Two other class action suits pending in Tennessee and West Virginia are being combined with the national suit, which originated in Arkansas.
